CD 2 1. No Problem (1996): Never released as a single, but we thought it should have been. 2. Special Star: Jozi 2008 Mix: A nice, different way to shake off the dust on an old favourite. 3. Taken For a Moment (1994): In memory of David Webster. Our favourite arrangement. 4. Dance Some More (1984): The very first Mango Groove recording, 5. Gone Too Soon (1997): Claire’s duet with the incomparable Mahlatini. 6. Deep Blue Sea (2000): A deleted track from an earlier compilation. We like the unrepentant lyrics. 7. Ulale Kanjani? (2006): Something recent, and very close to our hearts. 8. Place in My Heart (1998): Another song that we thought should have been a single: 9. Let Your Heart Speak (unreleased, 1998): Latino-Marabi? 10. Move Up (original version, 1987): Our first ‘’hit single’’, all 4 000 units of it! 11. Love Is (original version, 1985): Our first official single release with Claire, 12. 2 Hearts (original version, 1985): Our very first recording with Claire, 13. Together As One: Kanye Kanye (2003): The official 2003 SA Rugby song, 14. Africa Blue (2004): One of our favourites, taken off Claire’s ‘’Africa Blue’’ album. 15. Crew Cut (1985): An obscure B-side, featuring the incomparable ‘’Big Mickey’’ 16. Africa (2004): The Salif Keita, classic, redone by Claire and the band for Claire’s ‘’Africa Blue’’ album. We performed with Salif in France many years ago and have loved the song ever since. 17. Imoya (1999): unreleased, 1997. Actually inspired by a Bonnie Raitt song that was itself 18. Kwela? (1982): Warning: you are now entering serious Anorak territory. This song is taken off John’s very first EP recording ‘’Pett Frog: The Rest’’. Pett Frog was John’s first band, formed with Bertrand Mouton, Andy Craggs and Johnno Lloyd while John was still at school: A bizarre mix of Punk, New Romantic and Bastard Kwela.
